Q: What happened to Aaron Brown?

He is, without a doubt, the most professional, fair, honest and sincere news person on this planet. When and where can we expect him back?
-- J.L.E., Stephenville

A: You're not the only one puzzled and irked by CNN and Aaron Brown parting ways. Brown, whose NewsNight show anchored the station's prime time news slot, has a legion of fans who are none too pleased about Brown's departure. Whoever has to read CNN's hate e-mail is probably working late tonight 'cuz of this.

Brown is leaving the network and will be taking some "well-deserved time off with his family," CNN president Jon Klein said in a press release. Brown has not officially accepted a new gig yet.
Anderson Cooper, who often joined Brown on NewsNight and also hosted his own show, has taken over Brown's time slot. His news background is hit-and-miss. Before he started at CNN, he worked as an ABC News correspondent and was the chief international correspondent at Channel One News. On the icky side of things, he hosted the reality show The Mole.
