This isn't new stuff. CNN is making a big deal out of incompetency

I'm trying to find a reference. This 'multi-jet' conspiracy was alluded to not long after 911. As a matter of fact I do believe there was information found in Afghanistan by the CIA after the invasion with plans to do exactly this.

This is an interesting site:

An overview of how Al Qaeda's rise and international reach gradually came into focus for U.S. intelligence.

YEAH, MR. BUSH, you are as much the problem as bin Laden. I sincerely don't believe Bush cares about this country so much as it's potential for making money with it.

Chris Amanpour - Home grown terror. Yes. And. No. The influence of the 'underground' in London isn't so pervasive that you can call it home grown terror. This isn't like the conflict with the IRA. Or a movement that would be appaulding someone like Timothy McVeigh. I think of 'home grown' terrorists as people banded together to overthrow the government. I know what people are trying to call 'home grown' terrorists. But, it more 'domestic terrorists' I consider an unknown threat. This is different. The fact of the matter is 'terrorists' planning this type of violence seems far easier to follow than someone 'domestic' such as McVeigh.

This is an example and then there are the students that never showed up for school.

Two laundered money for Hizbollah -Ohio prosecutor

CHICAGO, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Two 20-year-old men arrested in Ohio were being held on Thursday on charges of money laundering on behalf of Hizbollah, authorities said.
The two men, Ali Houssaiky and Osama Abulhassan, of Dearborn, Michigan, were apprehended on Tuesday in Marietta, Ohio, during a traffic stop and found carrying $11,000 in cash, 12 cell phones, airline passenger lists and information on airport security, a spokesman for the Washington County prosecutor's office said.
Authorities said the men admitted to buying hundreds of telephones and reselling them in Dearborn.
A map marking Wal-Mart stores from Ohio to South Carolina was also found in their sedan, a spokesman said.
Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit with a large Arab-American population, has been a locus of U.S. investigations into money-raising on behalf of Hizbollah and Hamas, both groups that are on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations.

Ramzi Yousef attempts a trial run of Operation Bojinka, planting a small bomb on a Philippine Airlines flight to Tokyo, and disembarking on a stopover before the bomb is detonated. The bomb explodes, killing one man and injuring several others. It would have successfully caused the plane to crash if not for the heroic efforts of the pilot.

Have you hear about the Gates Foundation? I really think Gates should have the USA Natioanal Budget to oversee. What do you say? Huh? No Iraq War, only benevolent spending to cure all the worlds ills and creating friends instead of enemies. It's a thought.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation yesterday said it will give $500 million to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria over the next five years.
The contribution is by far the largest from a nongovernment source since the Global Fund was created in 2002.

Russia Touts Mideast Cease-Fire Draft
By NICK WADHAMSThe Associated PressThursday, August 10, 2006; 9:11 PM
UNITED NATIONS -- Russia circulated a draft U.N. Security Council resolution Thursday that calls for a 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire in Lebanon, saying the crisis was reaching "catastrophic" proportions and was too urgent to wait for passage of a separate U.S.-French measure.
The move came as the United States and France appeared close to breaking a deadlock on their long-awaited resolution and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton said there could be a vote on their proposal Friday.

Peter Bergen - Talking about ducks. I guess.

Vietnam kills ducks, tightens bird flu checks

http://today.reuters.com/News/CrisesArticle.aspx?storyId=HAN249059

HANOI, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Vietnam has slaughtered 54 ducks in a southern province after tests showed they had a strain of avian influenza, the third such finding this year, but there have been no outbreaks of the disease, an official said on Thursday."We found the ducks at two farms infected with H5 so we killed them all," said Mai Van Hiep, director of the Animal Health Department in Ben Tre province, 85 km (50 miles) southwest of Ho Chi Minh City."But this is not an outbreak as all the ducks were healthy," he told Reuters by telephone.

YOU KNOW I'LL tell you something guys. This is all old news.

I don't 'get' the purpose to continue to rehash all this mess when it more or less looks like nothing more than diverting the attention from the incompetency that causes the repeated issue over and over.

Example: Peter Bergen obviously has vast knowledge of al Qaeda, names, dates, acts of violence; but; he doesn't speak to the issue of the longevity of this terror issue. This country has spent itself into huge debt without questioning once as to the necessity until it became obvious that Iraq was a fraudulent issue to National Security. By exploiting the intellect of Bergen, and placing him in a position to reiterate the history of al Qaeda and terrorism it serves several purposes. It brings up issues of past terrorist successes to raise the 'culture of fear' component in society. It also brings multiple words of 'al Qaeda' and 'bin Laden' and all the 'fear' components with those words over and over again. It's linquistic manipulation of the 'course' of the thought processes this news network is trying to steer into.

There is no doubt Peter Bergen knows his stuff, it's just that it doesn't really apply here as London intelligence has been successful. And I am sorry if this sounds ungrateful but I don't believe this was much of a reach for Interpol. I am confident the techniques that were to be employed were very much on the minds and in the records of British intelligence. It was just a matter of finding people who really wanted to carry this out. The SHAME of it all is that this type of 'terror alert' should never have been an issue today. It should have been in place long ago. Finding people who want to do society harm is always necessary, but, the measures to protect society from them should not be an after thought.

Israel and the John Roberts report. I guess we are all hoping for a productive peace arrangement. I would love for the violence of war to stop. I would love for the hostage soldiers to come home. I would love for all the missiles to be disarmed away from Hezbollah.

Let's hope it happens. I don't see Israel returning to insecurity at it's borders either. Israel has sacrificed a great deal to remove Hezbollah from an area that can be patrolled by a neutral peacekeeper force. That has to be respected. I don't see any alternatives. Hezbollah is a terrorist organization, they aren't interested in peace in the Middle East or otherwise. They need to be dissolved with concerted efforts internationally.

I congratulate the British for their incredible successes both domestically and in Afghanistan. I admire their commitment to National Security. They are leading the world in awareness. At least someone is. Thank you, Mr. Blair.

THE 'what if' is an exercise in futility and part of the Culture of Fear.

I have had....

... enough.
