(AP) -- Strong thunderstorms rolled across the northern Plains Tuesday, producing heavy rain, high wind and hail.
Rain, small hail and wind gusts up to 45 mph were reported in parts of the Dakotas, Nebraska and Minnesota.
A front triggered scattered showers in the southern Appalachians. Showers and thunderstorms also pushed through southern Florida and coastal North Carolina.
