The Optimist "Things don't happen quickly."

900 pm

North Korea is a non - issue in regard to National Security or the security of the nations surrounding North Korea. The humantarian issues are enormous in regard to North Korea. That is where the 'interest'of the USA and it's six party 'talks' belong. The missiles are a nonissue.

Bush states diplomacy just never worked with Iraq. He lies. Iraq was completely disarmed and 'contained' prior to the invasion at Bush's demand. There was no reason to invade Iraq. The invasion inspired a Civil War between the Shia and Sunnis. And not only that, it's allowed an explosion of instability in the region causing Iran's president to state anti-semistism as a priority. It allowed the growth of Zarqawi's al Qaeda connections leading to attacks in Amman. Bush straight faced lied about the diplomacy before the invasion. It worked. Hussein was contained. Bush opened the storehouses of munitons in the Iraqi desert. Does he actually think there is going to be an end to the violence in Iraq after he armed the resistance through gross negligence to detail before his invasion?

Comparing Japan's turn from imperialism to democracy has absolutely no comparison to Iraq. Japan signed treaties of surrender. There were terms. They were nuked. Their culture is hugely different. That is like comparing apples to oranges.

Oh, yeah, opinion polls don't bother him at all. He accepted the resignation of a female Supreme Court nominee caused by the opinions of his party before she ever got to hearings, but, of course Bush never succumbs to polls. In comparison, Bush always finds the backbone to deny Rumsfeld's resignations twice.

Honoring the dead troops by completing 'the mission' is the wrong reason. The dead are not the reason to go forward. Sound reasons for war is why the mission continues or ends. We have done enough in Iraq. It's upto Iraqis to handle the security of their country.

Laura is a lovely lady. However, when it comes to issues of the nation, she always reverts to an answer regarding a home front approach. Children. That wasn't the question. She stated she doesn't approve of censorship of any kind. That was the answer we were looking for in her opinion. She disagrees with the priorities of her husband's administration and "The Patriot Act." No one disagress that 'the children's section' should exlude pornography, however, The Patriot Act does not include censorship, it is about disclosure of personal information to the government. She never answered the question about libraries and The Patriot Act. If Laura's understanding of The Patriot Act reflects that of the women of her party it is a profound disappointment in how they preceive their government and their world.

George's approach to the immigration issue is to pacify all those involved including employers, by rewarding the illegal and low paid immigrant and the low paying employer by issuing a temporary worker card. The immigrants need to be stopped from killing themselves in their desperation. But the real change in illegal immigration rates will come when employers are sought out and prosecuted from breaking the law. When illegals can't find work, they'll stop coming and working in adverse conditions. If jobs go unfilled then they are jobs that should not exist in the state they are today !

no entry - I not interested in commenting on Ken Lay. The relationship with Bush is expected, actually.

Bush is very wishy washy about emergency relief. He uses the word 'desire' to cover up any of his own responsibilty beforehand. There is no 'desire' about it. When the National Weather Service states a Cat 5 storm is headed for the USA, there IS evacuation. There is relief to the area. Bush's 'idea' about 'proper' paperwork to be submitted is bizarre and an excuse to avoid blame. The facts regarding incoming storms by the National Weather Service should never require proper documentation NOR should there be the 'option' of evacuation based on desire. Bush is already negligent, before that fact.

Besides the issue of rapes and deaths perhaps Mr. Bush would like to comment on this:

ACLU sues over '04 Bush incident
By Sanne Specht /
Mail Tribune (Medford, OR)
The American Civil Liberties Union plans to file suit today against federal and local law enforcement agencies for the "violent disruption of peaceful protesters" during President Bush's 2004 campaign visit to Jacksonville, according to ACLU officials.
"We will be filing our suit against the Secret Service and a number of local police agencies including Oregon State Police, the Jacksonville Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department," said David Fidanque, executive director of the Oregon ACLU.

Bush gets daily briefings everyday. There you go. "We have an 'intel' briefing everyday except Sunday. They did before 911, too. It didn't matter than either.

Laura speaks again about 'housewife' priorities and the living in the White House. I think that is fine. That was a regular topic with Jackie Kennedy as well. If that is her focus then she should be happy with it. Talk about the house you live in then, Mrs. Bush. I'm sure people will eat it up. If government doesn't interest her, then she should leave it alone and enjoy her experience. Many of the previous first ladies were different.

Exercise. Fine.

That insulting automated voice introduces a 'tape.' So what. The authorities in London and across Britain have changed a lot. They have literally swept London's streets of hate mongers and suspected terrorists. There won't be another bombing. But, that is not what one will hear on this news program. Only hysteria and attempts to escalate the Culture of Fear. This man is dead. He cannot predict the outcome of any event today from the grave.

That is why boycotting CNN is simple. Just turn it off.

enough.
