The Control Freaks are 'at it' again

Senator Brownback doesn't pay attention. He makes political propaganda statements as if everyone in the globe NEEDS to listen to the USA as if every nation in the area of North Korea isn't already engaged.

Russia is already engaged. They don't need a USA senator to tell them what to do.

North Korea's decision to fire the seven to 10 missiles was a violation of its own seven-year moratorium on tests and threatened to lead to international action against the maverick Communist regime.
Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alexeyev expressed "serious concern" to North Korean Ambassador Pak Ui Chun during a meeting at the Foreign Ministry, the ministry said.
"It was emphasized that North Korea's missile launches damage peace and stability in the region and complicate the potential for resolving the nuclear problems on the Korean Peninsula to the benefit of all interested states and the international community as a whole," it said in a statement.
The ambassador promised to "swiftly inform Pyongyang of Russia's position," it said.
The ministry last summoned him less than two weeks ago, when it became clear that Pyongyang was considering tests. It told him then that Russia opposed any threat to regional stability.

There is no danger imposed by North Korea. Bush caused this and is why everyone is picking up after his mess. North Korea wants a defense against the USA. They aren't going to stop. The economic interests of North Korea has to be nurtured otherwise there will be a complete stalement for a long time while Kim tries to get a missile that will fly. That may never happen. Military intervention is out of the question.

China has been engaged with North Korea for a long time. The people of North Korea rely on China for sustanence. With China enjoying a thriving economy, I have a hard time believing they aren't interested in assisting North Korea into a modern economy. The reason there is such nationalism in North Korea is to provide a numerous and dedicated military to protect itself behind a DMZ. That won't change. But, a viable economy with a modern day emphasis will enhance the potential of the people of North Korea to move into a better quality of life.

North Korea has no potential to cause problems that any regional nation cannot defend from. To lend offers of opportunity to the economy of North Korea in respect of their needs and allowing the 'esteem' of their nation to be defined by it's benign China-like factories and products as well as their admirable nationalism is the best outcome of all this.

China expresses serious concern over DPRK's missile test-firing

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said Wednesday that China is "seriously concerned" over the tensions caused by the missile test-firing by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
"We are seriously concerned with what had happened," Liu said in a press release.
He urged the parties concerned to keep calm and exercise restraint, make more efforts to promote peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the northeast Asia and avoid actions that further intensify and complicate the situation.
China has made unremitting efforts to ease the tensions in the Korean Peninsula, maintain regional peace and stability and push forward the negotiation process of the six-party talks, Liu said.
"We'll continue to work together with all the other parties and play a constructive role," Liu said.

Refugees from North Korea is not workable. Trying to empty a nation in order to attack it is not a good foreign policy. Promoting refugees is not an idea that any country would acknowledge as a good option except the Republicans of the USA. which has a large Iraqi refugee PROBLEM already that didn't exist before the invasion and INSTABILITY.
As a matter of fact, encouraging refugess is the frank LACK of policy.
\
Opening immigration to North Koreans is about the best any country could do and should. They should have immigration policies in effect regardless of the isolation of North Korea.

Brownback "We need to USE Japan to lead the way on this." The arrogance is unbelievable.

The "Korean Herald" is the major English newsprint in South Korea. It is wall to wall articles to assess the events while reassuring their readership. The reason why all regional countries need to descent without aggression is to reassure South Korea they are not alone and certainly not in danger.

The leading article out of the Korean Herald shows a casual approach to the subject.

N. Korea plays missile card

The programing of Larry King Live is lagging in impulsion and has become 'mind speak.' Former Secretary Albright noted quiet correctly this was not an issue under the past administration where she had met with North Korean administration. I disagree this is a dangerous situation. It is however a tragic one, whereby the ONLY hope the USA offered to keep open channels open have been destroyed.

I doubt there is anything more to say, especially from an automated voice mail from AC 360.

To ask China to stop trade with North Korea would cause an even greater hardship to the people in North Korea. It's inhumane. The people making that statement have 'no clue' what to do.

Anderson you're a jerk. The best story you have is in New Orleans.
