The level of disrespect for a senior anchor is just not be believed.

There was no e-mail. There was no personal appearance for a pre-program announcement. The personal pre-program announcements of this news hour was made twice during Anderson Cooper 360 by Anderson. The ads today for NewsNight are all basically generic and automated with a repulsive electronic voice.

When Dan Rather resigned he addressed his audience. Granted he was there 20 plus years. Tom Brokaw was the same with a final fairwell. Peter Jennings was bid a farewell one last time before we lost him to lung cancer.

But, does the CNN executive value their staff? No. Anderson Cooper is simply a commodity. Do they value their viewership? No. We are a commodity, too.

The difference in the abuse of cable network news and the majors was never really obvious to me before but seeing how they are eliminating Aaron Brown from a unique news program is testimony to the depersonalized entity CNN actually is. The majors ahve a respect for their audience. CNN EXPECTS their audience to perform to stand as their news anchors do in that we are expected to be apprecaitive of every effort and 'climb on board' for the last social trend or concern to find definition and meaning to our shallow and pitiful lives.

The longer this goes on the less respect I have for anyone who tries but fails to manage a message instead of delivering the news.
