Inhumanity speaks to many people on both sides of the border but illegal immigration is not the answer. Neither is violence against those that try.

Increasing the Supply of Labor
Through ImmigrationMeasuring the Impact on Native-born Workers

http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/back504.html

By increasing the supply of labor between 1980 and 2000, immigration reduced the average annual earnings of native-born men by an estimated $1,700 or roughly 4 percent.

Among natives without a high school education, who roughly correspond to the poorest tenth of the workforce, the estimated impact was even larger, reducing their wages by 7.4 percent.

The 10 million native-born workers without a high school degree face the most competition from immigrants, as do the eight million younger natives with only a high school education and 12 million younger college graduates.

The negative effect on native-born black and Hispanic workers is significantly larger than on whites because a much larger share of minorities are in direct competition with immigrants.

The reduction in earnings occurs regardless of whether the immigrants are legal or illegal, permanent

I HAVE COMPASSION for anyone suffering under governments that are not benevolent. But. The issue of allowing illegal immigrants in the USA only extends the suffering and quite frankly increases it. The people that cross the border do it with great peril and can be involved in the drug economy. That is not a life. That is simply being a commodity. The issue is not 'compassion' for others by the USA, it is the USE by businesses that should not be conducting business at the cost of human integrity including that of Americans. The flow of illegals has to stop. They work of less than minimum wage and THAT is the issue and not the supply of labor !

A comprehensive plan is needed. But, one that brings a viable econmy to Mexico and not a drug economy compliments of Mexican border towns and illegal immigrants.

I don't think a fence will do anything.

Hayden broke the law with permission to do so by the president. Men that break the law knowingly don't have the capacity to uphold it. !

The above study teaches many things, but, the one that elected official need to pay attention to is the fact immigration, legal or illegal, has to be limited or natural born Ameicans will never find a way to succeed so much as relinquish any hope of improving their lives when defeated by very poor government policy. Natural born Americans have rights, too !

Brazil to Boost Cane Crop Area 50% in 8 Years, Rodrigues Says
May 18 (Bloomberg) -- Brazil will increase its sugarcane crop area by half in eight years as flexible-fuel cars boost demand for ethanol made from the tropical plant, Agriculture Minister Roberto Rodrigues said.
Sugarcane planting in Brazil, the world's biggest ethanol consumer and producer after the U.S., will rise to about 9 million hectares (22.2 million acres) by 2014, Rodrigues, 63, said in an interview at his office in Brasilia yesterday. Current crops represent 10 percent of the 60 million hectares of Brazilian land with potential for cane planting, he said.
